SAILPLANE PILOT LICENCE

 

A glider pilot license allows you to fly gliders and is a great first step into the world of aviation. It allows you to enjoy flights without an engine, using only air currents and thermals.

• Our training organization is certified by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
• You can register for training individually, there is no need to join a training group.
• We conduct training in two languages ​​- Lithuanian and English, so participants can choose the language they want.

Requirements to start training:
• Age – 14 years (minors require written parental permission / consent to participate in the training course)
• Class 2 aviation medical certificate

The training program consists of two stages:
• Theoretical training – 100 hours.
• Practical training – 15 flight hours. + 1 hours skill test

Theoretical training stage
The theoretical part of the training takes place in the classroom and / or remotely, so you can fully control the pace of your learning and adapt the training to your schedule. Each theoretical training module contains comprehensive training material: texts, multimedia presentations and audio recordings.
At the end of the theoretical training, the participants take an internal exam, which is necessary to obtain a certificate and take the state exam.
While learning the theoretical part, participants can also start the second stage – practical flying. During all trainings, training participants have the opportunity to communicate directly with experienced instructors and discuss the issues that have arisen.

SPL theoretical training consists of the following subjects:
1. Air law;
2. Operational procedures;
3. Human performance;
4. Radio communication;
5. Meteorology;
6. Flight performance and planning;
7. Principles of flight;
8. Aircraft general knowledge;
9. Navigation.

Practical training phase
Practical training consist of at least 15 hours of in-air training, in accordance with PART-SFCL regulations, with these two-seater gliders:
• Schleicher K7 or
• SZD-9 Bocian

We would like to emphasize that the participant must have an aviation medical certificate (class II) and an ICAO English language level document/certificate, if the training is conducted in English, before starting the practical training phase.

After the training, practical exam (skill test) is conducted at our training center, which is held with a pre-assigned examiner.
