ULO RG

ULTRALIGHT GYROCOPTER PILOT LICENCE

The ultralight gyrocopter pilot license (ULO RG) course is designed for those who wish to pilot gyrocopter (autogyro) often used for recreational or personal flying.

Gyrocopters are distinguished by their high maneuverability, efective control and the ability to fly safely at low speeds, which makes them a favorite among aviation enthusiasts and creates unforgettable flight experiences.

Ultralight gyrocopter (or autogyro) is a small, lightweight single/two-seater rotorcraft with a maximum take-off mass of up to 560 kg and a freely spinning rotor. A gyrocopter and a helicopter are different aircraft because a gyrocopter’s upper rotor, unlike a helicopter’s, is not powered by an engine, it is spinning freely by a moving counter-air flow. A gyrocopter is powered by an engine-driven propeller at the rear of the aircraft. A gyrocopter needs much shorter runway for take-off than an airplane and can land almost vertically.

• You can register for training individually, there is no need to join a training group
• We conduct training in two languages - Lithuanian and English, so participants can choose the language they want.

Requirements to start training:
• Age – 16 years (minors require written parental permission / consent to participate in the training course)
• Medical certificate – No 083-1/a (same as for category B driver) or class II aviation medical certificate

The training program consists of two stages:
• Theoretical training – 25 hours.
• Practical training – 26 flight hours. + 1 hours skill test

Theoretical training stage
Theoretical training is a part of ULO pilot training. Theoretical training is carried out according to the general theoretical training program of ULO pilots and is integrated into practical training, which is carried out gradually during practical training.

Theoretical training consists of the following subjects:
1. Air law;
2. Meteorology;
3. Aircraft general knowledge;
4. Navigation;
5. Principles of flight;
6. Radio communications;
7. Human performance and limitations;
8. Flight procedures;
9. General flight safety.

Practical training stage
The practical part takes place with an experienced instructor using the Autogyro MTOsport 2017 ultralight aircraft. It includes:
• Fundamentals of aircraft management;
• Take-off and landing techniques;
• Flight on a straight trajectory and maneuvers;
• Management of critical situations;
• Navigation by map and instruments.

We would like to emphasize that the participant must have a medical certificate No 083-1/a (same as for category B driver) or aviation medical certificate (class II) and an ICAO English language level document/certificate, if the training is conducted in English, before starting the practical training phase.

After the training, practical exam (skill test) is conducted at our training center, which is held with a pre-assigned examiner.

We cooperate with "SB leasing" and offer to pay for training in installments. For more information, please contact us.
